Purpose: Objective: to exclude the potential recurrences of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) using an effective method of sewing the diaphragmal defect. Three cases of recurrence of the left-sided CDH, developed in the group of 127 newborns, being operated from 1982 till 2012, were analyzed in detail. The technique of diaphragmatic defect suturing is given in detail, taking into account the theoretical positions of the authors, considering CDH as a thoracic ectopia of abdominal organs. Positive results obtained in 3 cases of CDH recurrence, enable the authors to recommend such a method for application in a surgical treatment of such a complication.
