The purpose of the study was to assess the possibility of laboratory monitoring of patients with the syndrome of opioids and psychostimulants dependence by determining the content of neurotrophic factors and protein markers of nerve tissue damage in the blood. The study was carried out with the participation of patients divided into 3 groups: those with the syndrome of dependence on opioids (Group 2), those with the syndrome of dependence on psychostimulants (Group 3) and patients with the combined use of psychoactive substances (Group 4). The results of the study were compared with a group of practically healthy subjects (Group 1, n=20). In blood plasma, 5 protein markers were determined: BDNF, GDNF, neuron specific enolase (NSE), calcium-binding protein S100B, and alpha-synuclein. A decreased value of BDNF content by 2.0– 2.3 times and NSE by 20-60 % in the blood plasma of patients of the 2nd and 3rd groups was established, which normalized after the therapy. On the contrary, the content of GDNF in blood plasma was increased by 63 % of the control level. Changes in the content of BDNF, GDNF and NSE in blood plasma demonstrate a high sensitivity to therapy at the detoxification and stabilization stage and allow the use of these markers in laboratory diagnostics of drug pathology.
