[Original research] [Ophtalmology]
Lev Cherednichenko; Lyudmila Barycheva; Anastasia Bernovskaya;

Thirty patients were examined in the Clinic of Eye Microsurgery of the Stavropol State Medical University: 10 patients with suspected glaucoma, 10 patients with the initial stage of glaucoma, 10 patients with the advanced stage of glaucoma. There was revealed the increase of IL-1β, TNF-ά, IL-17 in the lacrimal fluid, IL-1β, TNF-ά – in blood serum, depending on the severity of glaucoma. The detection of the anti-inflammatory cytokines in the lacrimal fluid and blood serum can be used for the early diagnosis of the glaucomatous process.
