The results of systemic antimicrobials consumption in outpatient practice analysis since 2000 till 2012 using the ATC/DDD methodology are presented. In 2000, in pharmacies dominated sales of nitrofurans, nitroimidazoles, sulfonamides, macrolides (erythromycin, oleandomycin), lincomycin and tetracycline. By 2012, the basis of consumption amounted to fluoroquinolones, beta-lactam antibiotics and macrolides. Application of compliance drugs with stable pharmacokinetic characteristics – amoxicillin, azithromycin, clarithromycin, josamycin, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, creates conditions for enhanced efficiency of antibiotic therapy and reduces the rate of antibiotic resistance in outpatient practice.
