The study aimed to detect and evaluate the effectiveness of various nephroprotection strategies in experimental metabolic syndrome. The objects of the study were 62 male laboratory Wistar rats, which were given food containing 60 % fructose for 24 weeks. Also therapeutic compositions for 10 weeks (from Week 14 to Week 24) had given. Following euthanasia of animals, markers of renal damage were analyzed: creatinine, urea, total protein, cystatin C, collagen type IV, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin. The outcomes serve proof to the effectiveness and safety of the combination of grapevine polyphenol concentrate and angiotensin II receptor blocker as a means of comprehensive therapy for metabolic nephropathy.
