It is known that rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has a high degree of disability, which leads to the need for surgical correction of the joints. The aim of study was the analysis of the effectiveness of knee arthroplasty in patients with rheumatic diseases at the beginning of rehabilitation. We analyzed knee arthroplasty (AP), done for 65 patients with RA in the Department of Orthopedics 2 Republican clinical hospital (Kazan). Perioperative therapy was standard according to the rheumatologist recommendations. Three months after RA, we noted an improvement in social functioning in all patients, which is associated with a decrease in pain and disease activity to a greater extent in the groups of patients with methotrexate. This study proves the effectiveness of the complex effect of RA and rational selection of basic therapy on the condition of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
