A new approach in the complex treatment of chronic infectious prostatitis

The purpose of this study was the comparative analysis of the efficiency of elaborated treatment approach in chronic infectious prostatitis. Examination of patient included PCR, urethroscopy, ultrasound investigation of the prostate gland. 163 patients with chronic infectious prostatitis were divided into two groups. Patients of the main group (n=88) received gemifloxacin, azithromycin, prostate extract, massage of the prostate gland and rectal laser therapy. Patients in the comparison group (n=75) were treated by ofloxacin instead of gemifloxacin. 1 and 6 months later significant clinical improvement was shown in the main group. The elaborated therapy technology is recommended for clinical practice.
