Malignant cardiac tumors: clinical case of sarcoma

[Notes from practice]
Amalia Ashotovna Arakelyants; Tatiana Amayakovna Buravikhina; Tatiana Evgenyevna Morozova; Elena Alexandrovna Barabanova;

Primary heart tumors are extremely rare – up to 0.5 %. Of these, 25 % are malignant. The absence of pathognomonic signs, asymptomatic course or heterogeneity of clinical manifestations of the disease makes the recognition of the tumor process in the heart extremely difficult. After all, the clinical picture of the malignant process depends on the characteristics of localization, size and nature of growth. This article presents a clinical case of cardiac sarcoma in patient with long-term cardiac rhythm disorder. Cardiac and embolic manifestations, acute onset and rapid progression are typical for cardiac cancer. Correct diagnosis and prompt treatment clearly demonstrate that the diagnosis of the heart tumor is not a verdict for the patient.
