Correction of changes of humoral and cell lines of immunity, apoptosis process in bronchial asthma in children

The aim of the study was to assess the effect of immunomodulatory therapy (by cycloferon) on the humoral and cellular immunity, the process of apoptosis in children with bronchial asthma (BA). 120 children with asthma aged from 5 to 14 years were examined. The main group (n=60) – children who received basic therapy according to the protocols GINA (2011) and the inducer of interferon (cycloferon). Comparison group – children who received only basic therapy (n=60). The indices of different immunity lines were studied: cell immunity – CD3, CD4, CD8, D4/CD8, CD19, humoral immunity – IgA, IgM, IgG, IgE, circulating immune complexes; the level of proinflammatory cytokines TNF-ά, IL-1β, IL-4; markers of apoptosis – CD95, sFASL, Caspase-1/ICE, Annexin V. In children with BA a secondary immunodeficiency was established according to the specific T-lymphocyte line, namely, a decrease in the markers of CD8 T-suppressors was observed against the background of the preserved production of the pro-inflammatory cytokines and FAS-induced apoptosis. The interferon inducer – cycloferon exerts a pronounced immunomodulatory effect on the production of TNF-a, IL-4, IL-1b, restores the T-system of immunity, reduces apoptosis of the cellular and tissue structures of the bronchopulmonary system and effector cells, which contributes to the development of prolonged clinical remission in this cohort of patients.
