[Ophtalmology]
Alexander Kulik; Alexey Bogomolov;

The purpose of research – to develop a method for predicting the risk of developing macular degeneration in its early stages.
In order to develop methods to use the results of a survey of 120 patients eye clinic (experimental group), and for its validation – the results of the survey in 1048 patients of the same clinic (control group).
Patients of the experimental group performed ophthalmologic examination and medical history data were collected. Comparing the findings, identified risk groups, risk factors and their graduations, each of which define private assessment are combined into an integral component of risk. On this basis, we developed a method for predicting the risk of developing macular degeneration.
Patients in the control group were determined the risk of developing macular degeneration in the moment and in 9–17 months after that, the progression of macular degeneration evaluation.
The developed method makes it possible to adequately forecast the risk of developing macular degeneration, is suitable for use in screening ophthalmic examinations.
