The possible causes of reflux gastritis after gastrectomy for peptic ulcer disease were studied. Various modifications of gastric resection, as well as risk factors for reflux gastritis in the preoperative period were considered in 32 patients. The susceptibility to the development of reflux gastritis, taking into account the criteria that influence the development of this disease: data of esophagogastroduodenoscopy, cardiorhythmography, electrogastrography, stomach radiography, the total antibodies titer to Helicobacter pylori, the level of C-reactive protein were evaluated. It was found that a number of factors affecting the development of postoperative reflux gastritis occur after gastrectomy: the state of anastomosis, autonomic imbalance and the associated motor-evacuation dysfunction of the operated stomach. Taking into account the studied factors, the forecasting of this complication in the preoperative period is possible with the recommendation of gastric resection with areflux anastomosis at the high likelihood of reflux gastritis developing.
