The retrospective analysis of the observation results was performed in children with intrauterine infections and malformations. In children with malformations cytomegalovirus infection was verified in 127 cases and congenital toxoplasmosis – in 69 cases. Higher mortality rate (61,4%) was observed in children with congenital cytomegalovirus infection in comparison with the cases of congenital toxoplasmosis (34,8%). Survived children with congenital toxoplasmosis more frequently suffered from severe disabling complications affecting CNS and eyes such as obstructive hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, complete or partial blindness, cerebral asthenia.
