Enhancing the reliability of ultrasound scanning in the prenatal diagnostics of issues affecting the development of female genitals requires detailed anatomical knowledge of the features pertaining to their development. The aim of this study was to obtain new data concerning the anatomy and topography of the human uterus in the intermediate fetal ontogenesis. The study was performed on sectional material of 60 female fetuses (14–22 weeks) from the Human Anatomy Department collection (OrSMU). The approaches employed included the histotopographic method, macromicroscopic preparation, as well as preparing multi-planar sections of the pelvis (by N. I. Pirogov). All the data obt ained was been subjected to variational and statistical processing. Indicators of the size and proportions of various parts of the uterus in fetuses aged 14–22 weeks demonstrated pronounced growth dynamics through the study period, while the growth rates of individual parameters varied significantly. The features of the wide and round ligaments of the uterus were identified, reflecting the topography of the pelvic structures at this stage of evolution. Significant variability of uterine syntopy, mainly of its posterior wall, was to be observed, and uterine skeletotopy variants were described. The study helped obtain new data on the anatomy and topography of the human uterus at 14–22 weeks of intrauterine development, the data potentially being useful to specialists dealing with prenatal medicine.
