The article presents an analysis of the frequency and severity of complications that occur during sinus lifting surgery using piezosurgical equipment and rotary instruments. At the first stage of the study, a prospective survey of practicing specialists was performed. At the second stage, the frequency of complications was studied. The division into study groups was carried out taking into account the method of performing sinus lifting surgery: Group 1 – using a rotary instrument, Group 2 – using piezosurgical equipment. It was found that in both groups, regardless of the method of surgical treatment, intraoperative and early postoperative complications prevailed. In the early postoperative period, suture disruption, bleeding, and infectious complications in the form of acute sinusitis were more common. In the late postoperative period, infectious complications in the form of chronic sinusitis, periimplantitis, as well as loss and migration of the implant in the maxillary sinus were observed.
