Univentricular heart currently belongs to rare congenital heart issues affecting children. Severe hemodynamic disorders starting from the very first hours of a child’s life lead to a chronic hypoxic condition involving all of the child’s organs and tissues, progressive heart failure. Without a series of palliative surgical interventions, up to 67 % of children fail to survive in the first year of life, while 90 % of them die by the age of 10. Surgical correction of the congenital heart disease and the formation of a total cavopulmonary junction in young children does not always allow avoiding severe extracardial postoperative complications.
