In order to develop new approaches to the early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease, a quantitative study of fetal hemoglobin concentration in 110 patients with this disease was conducted. Fetal hemoglobin levels were determined using sodium dodecyl sulfate agar gel rocket electrophoresis. Fetal hemoglobin levels were statistically significantly lower in patients with chronic kidney disease compared to the control group. The lowest fetal hemoglobin values were determined in the subgroup of patients with stage 5 chronic kidney disease. In chronic glomerulonephritis, compared with chronic pyelonephritis, a significantly lower percentage of fetal hemoglobin in the blood was revealed. The results of the study open up new diagnostic possibilities in patients with chronic kidney disease.
