In the course of the work, a technology for obtaining chitosan nanoparticles containing ciprofloxacin was developed. The high efficiency of octanoic acid as an ion-pairing agent in the synthesis of chitosan nanoparticles containing ciprofloxacin was shown. Profile and kinetics of ciprofloxacin release from chitosan nanoparticles in vitro was described. The obtained results indicate a high antibacterial activity of chitosan nanoparticles containing ciprofloxacin against B. anthracis, B. cereus, E. coli, and P. vulgaris. The possibility of using glycosylated derivatives of chitosan for the creation of new dosage forms of antimicrobial drugs has been experimentally substantiated.
