A five-year follow-up of the patient with thrombosis of the portal, superior mesenteric and splenic veins, which became the cause of cirrhosis of the liver, is presentеd in the articlе. Resection of the small intestine, multiple endoscopic ligation of varicose veins of esophagus and cardia were performed over the entire observation period. Provided conservative and surgical treatment lead to stabilization of the patient’s condition, however, complications from the liver and portal system vessels could not be avoided.
