Hereditary predisposition and long-term family contact with the source of the disease are the key factors in leprosy process development. The described clinical case confirms the need of thorough study of the epidemiological history, identification and examination of persons in contact with leprosy patients, long-term follow-up and regular examination, as well as knowledge of the clinical manifestations of leprosy, including taking into account the possible atypical and low-symptom course of the disease in order to early diagnose and prevent the development of disabling complications of the disease.
