The aim of the study was to study the features of the ultrasound picture of healthy skin in children. The study involved 18 children aged 7 to 14 years, without chronic dermatoses, who underwent ultrasound scanning of the skin with a 75 MHz transducer in the cheeks, neck, trunk, upper and lower extremities. Thickness, echogenicity and structure of epidermis and dermis were evaluated. The greatest thickness of the epidermis was determined in the area of abdomen, upper back, neck and popliteal fossae, the smallest – in the area of cheeks. The highest echogenicity was in the area of thighs, cheeks, and popliteal fossae, and the lowest – in the neck. The maximum thickness of the dermis was in the area of abdomen, the minimum in the shoulders and hips. The maximum echogenicity of the dermis was in the area of the bend of elbows and popliteal fossae, the minimum – in the neck, upper back and abdomen areas. An uneven contour of the epidermis was observed in the elbow bends in 16 children (88.9 %), in the popliteal fossa in 14 children (77.8 %). A subepidermal hypoechoic band was observed in the neck, upper back, popliteal fossa, abdomen, forearms, and cubital fossa. This band was observed in at least one localization in 10 out of 18 children (55.6 % of cases).
