A comprehensive clinical-anamnestic, laboratory and instrumental examination of 63 children aged 10 to 17 years with a verified diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM type 1) was carried out. In the group of patients with lipid metabolism disorders, 90 % of children were diagnosed with hypercholesterolemia without an increase in the atherogenic index, and 10 % of children had an increased atherogenic index without hypercholesterolemia. Hypertriglyceridemia was detected in 23 % of patients. The study revealed the dependence of lipid metabolism disorders and a decrease in heart rate variability, the formation of arterial hypertension, left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and microcirculatory disorders. The results obtained prove the need to search for ways to improve not only carbohydrate, but also lipid metabolism in children with type 1 diabetes.
