Long-term unhealed wounds of the lower extremities against the background of chronic venous insufficiency is a medical and socio-economic problem. The most radical method of pathology treating, which reduces the pressure on the walls of the veins, is surgery. The effective methods of conservative therapy aimed at the activation of reparative processes and the restoration of damaged tissues should include the method of local and systemic ozone therapy. The study included 48 patients who underwent a course of complex ozone therapy, including local effects on the wound and intravenous administration of ozonized autologous blood. At the background of complex ozone therapy, the structure of plasma membranes improved, the erythrocyte regained its shape, and the adhesive forces tended to normalize. Blood ozonization increased the flexibility of plasma membranes, restored the form of red blood cells.
