Experimental therapy of changes of the circulation and content of electrolytes in cadmium intoxication

[Experimental medicine]
Vadim Brin; Karmen Mitziev; Oleg Kabisov; Astan Mitziev; Elmira Gagloeva;

The prolonged intake of cadmium into the body of experimental animals leads to the development of pronounced changes in systemic hemodynamics, accompanied by significant shifts in the concentrations of the main trace elements of the blood. Emerging arterial hypertension is caused by a sharp increase in peripheral vascular resistance, while cardiac output is significantly reduced. The accumulation of cadmium in bone tissue is combined with its decalcification. The content of total calcium and protein in the blood plasma decreases, and ionized calcium increases. Melatonin, used in the conditions of cadmium poisoning, has a significant therapeutic effect.
