One of the directions of tissue engineering is the development of techniques for the creating bioengineered scaffolds for inner organs similar to the native organs in major biological characteristics. The aim of the study was to describe a modified detergent-enzymatic protocol using sodium deoxycholate and DNase for decellularization of the heart of the non-human primate. Morphological methods of research demonstrated the complete absence of cells and cells nuclei in heart and intactness of the major proteins of the extracellular matrix after decellularization. This protocol can be used in studies on the recellularization of biological scaffolds with allogenic and autologous stem cells of non-human primates.
