Psychopathological disordes in adolescent girls with obesity and the role of neurobiochemical mechanisms in their development

[Psychiatry]
Natalia Tkachenko; Vladimir Zaika; Vera Andreeva;

We examined 130 adolescent girls with obesity. It was found that in patients with obesity, the frequency of anxiety and depression is significantly higher than in healthy girls. The results of the study confirm the role of leptin, neuropeptide Y, nesfatin-1 and cocaine-amphetamine-regulated transcript in the regulation of eating behavior, and may also indicate their participation in the development of affective disorders.
