The article deals with the problems of experimental modeling and the treatment of inflammatory and inflammatorydegenerative diseases of periodontal tissues. Experiments were performed on 130 white Wistar rats. It is established that the violation of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis in experimental periodontitis is manifested in the activation of processes of lipid peroxidation and decreased activity of antioxidant enzymes in the blood serum and homogenates of periodontal tissues. The use of the drug combination of glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate reduces the generation of free radicals and leads to normalization of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis, which confirms the feasibility of their use in pathogenetic therapy of inflammatory diseases of periodontal tissues.
