The purpose of the study was to analyze the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), haptoglobin (HG) and ceruloplasmin (CP) in blood of patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (BC) before treatment and after adjuvant intravesical gemcitabine chemotherapy (CT) accompanied by the simultaneous action of a local electromagnetic field (MF). The content of acute phase proteins and ceruloplasmin oxidase activity were analyzed in the treatment of 60 BC patients with the use of CT MF (main group) and without it (control group) in comparison with indicators of patients without cancer pathology. Before treatment, patients with BC were characterized by elevated levels of acute phase proteins: CRP by 5.7 times and HG by 60%. After completion of CT normalization of CRP, decrease in HG content, increased CP content and its oxidase activity were revealed. Patients in the control group were characterized by a decrease in the level of CRP, which was significantly less pronounced than in the main group. The data indicate a decrease in the inflammatory component, increase of the blood antioxidant potential under the influence of scanning electromagnetic effects and are consistent with the clinical efficacy of this method for treating bladder cancer, as well as confirm the information content of the definition of CRP as an additional test of oncourology patients state.
