[Clinical Pharmacology]

Study of CYP2C9*2 and CYP2C9*3 prevalence in ethnic groups of Stavropol territory (Slavs, Armenians, Karachai and Turkmen) was carried out. The genotypes analysis allowed to reveal significant total share of «slow» metabolizers among representatives of studied ethnic groups. This amount varies from 28 % in Karachai and 31,5 % in Turkmen to 36 % in Slavs and56 % in Armenian population. The high occurrence of allelic CYP2C9*3 polymorphism can serve as the predicting marker of the increased risk of bleedings in Armenians treated by warfarin. Perhaps, Armenians are more sensitive to drugs – substrates for CYP2C9 (oral anticoagulants, oral hypoglycemic agents, NSAID).
