Most neurologists associate the presence of the phenomenon of benign epileptiform discharges of childhood (BEDC) in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with the development or progression of the disease due to epileptiform activity. At the same time, there is an opinion that BEDC can be regarded as neurological disorders caused by «maturation pathology». In this regard, we are interested in the experience of neurophysiological control of children with clinical manifestations of ASD even before the appearance of BEDC. The emergence of the phenomenon of BEDC on EEG during the active progress of mental functions in children with ASD may indicate that the process of neuronal restructuring, maturation of the nervous system, the formation of new neuronal networks, accompanied by the appearance of discharge activity in the form of spikes on EEG, and may indicate the «reliability antiepileptic own system», in pathology.
