A good functional condition of the deltoid muscle is one of the decisive factors for the successful results of reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Given the lack of comprehensive data in the domestic and foreign literature on the tactics of operative access choice during shoulder arthroplasty, that would be based on the initial state of the deltoid muscle, the development of these recommendations is relevant. The method of objective instrumental diagnostics of the muscle fibers condition is electromyography. The algorithm for preoperative examination and differentiated choice of the surgical approach type based on the assessment the severity of degenerative changes in the deltoid muscle by electromyography has been developed
