The features of the functions of the cardiovascular system and the pathological and histological characteristics of the heart in chronic alcohol intoxication against the background of autoimmune nephritis were studied. Experimental chronic alcohol intoxication was obtained by intragastric administration through a probe of 40 % ethanol solution at a dose of 3.0 g/kg of animal weight for 30 days and daily administration through a probe of isovaleric acid amide solution at the rate of 500 mg/kg. Experimental autoimmune nephritis in rats was obtained by a single subcutaneous injection of a solution of Freund’s complete adjuvant with the same volume of a mixture of a homogenized mass of renal cortex. With excessive and prolonged intake of exogenous ethanol into the body against the background of autoimmune nephritis, arterial hypertension developed and the pumping function of the heart decreased. The morphological picture of the heart revealed the disappearance of transverse striation, signs of dystrophy in the form of focal and diffuse fat infiltration, and lipofuscinosis. Multiple foci of fibrosis of different sizes with predominantly perivascular localization were detected, there were signs of dyscirculatory disorders in the form of congestive venous fullness and plasma impregnation.
