Influence of phenazepam, melatonin and their combination on the level of antioxidant enzymes in the forebrain of stressed rats

Chronic stress causes changes in the antioxidant system enzymes activity in rat’s brain tissue, indicating an increase in oxidative reactions. Melatonin and Phenazepam (0.5 mg/kg each) similarly attenuate stress-induced shifts. With the joint introduction of substances, their antioxidant effect is markedly enhanced.
