Long-term administration of antipsychotics to laboratory rats (haloperidol and risperidone at doses of 0.1 mg/kg and 0.5 mg/kg for 30 days) leads to an increase in blood levels of IgG-autoantibodies to dopamine (D1 and D2) receptors and to NMDA receptors (NMDA1, NMDA2A, NMDA2B receptor subunits). At the same time, haloperidol to a greater degreeincreases the level of autoantibodies to dopamine D1 receptors, and risperidone – to both types of receptors (D1 and D2). Both antipsychotics stimulate the production of autoantibodies to NMDA receptors. The highest level of autoantibodies in rat blood was found for the NMDA2A receptor subunit.
