Possibility of radiation imaging in acute appendicitis

Acute appendicitis is one of the main indications for emergency abdominal surgery, which imposes special requirements for its timely and accurate diagnosis. Modern radiation imaging techniques, which include ultrasound, X-ray computer and magnetic resonance tomography, are the methods of choice in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis in an isolated use case, and the combination of their technological capabilities in complex clinical situations. The most justified from all points of view, we should recognize the principle of the widespread use of radiation imaging for suspected acute appendicitis in special categories of patients who have limitations to the use of the method of direct visualization of the abdominal cavity.
