Changes in the structural elements of the temporomandibular joint with distal occlusion

Morphological study of the elements of the temporomandibular joints of native preparations of 40 certified skulls with distal occlusion was carried out. The results of the study showed that distal occlusion complicated with the end and included defects of dentition of large extent, and formed as a result of defects of dentition in lateral segments compared with distal occlusion at the defects of dentition of small extent, is accompanied by the most pronounced changes in the structural elements of the temporomandibular joint.
