Elena Kuftyak;
We have studied the intensity of depression and coping strategies at 70 women with complicated course and outcome of pregnancy. The highest reliable level of depression was found in cases of premature birth. We found that mothers with the high depression level authentically differed in a negative assessment of their children in comparison with those with a subdepression. Women with a complicated course and pregnancy outcome are more likely to refuse active problem solving than women who gave birth on time. Gestational age acts as a predictor of a depression in pregnancy. It is recommended to consider the data obtained in medical and psychological support during pregnancy.
