Severe obstetric complications («near miss »): problems, search and solutions

The review presents the data of foreign researchers and Russian scientists on the problem of severe obstetric outcomes. The authors focused on the cases «near miss». The authors consider the advantages of the system audit of «near miss» in comparison with the study of maternal mortality, as well as the risk factors, the main causes and organizational factors leading to adverse maternal outcomes. The authors conclude that the clinical and organizational audit of cases «near miss» in Krasnoyarsk region (Siberia) will be effective in the prevention of severe maternal morbidity and mortality.
