Acne tarda in women: features of the course of the disease

The course of acne tarda in women was analyzed. The study involved 76 patients with a diagnosis of acne tarda aged 25 to 45 years. The disease was detected most frequently in patients under 35 years old (76.3 %). I (27.6 %), II (46.1 %) and III (22.4 %) degrees of severity of acne were identified. Among the subtypes the persisting course was the most frequent – in 42 patients (52.3 %); in this case there was a high enough percentage of debuts after the age of 25 years – 26.3 %. As comorbidities that could affect the course of the disease, depressive and anxiety disorders, female reproductive system diseases, endocrine diseases, pathology of the gastrointestinal tract and upper respiratory tract diseases were detected. More than half of patients regarded the impact of the disease on the quality of life as a strong one 26 (34.2 %) and very strong 18 (23.7 %).
