Chronopathology of parkinson’s disease and role of melatonin in the its origin

[Reviews]
Eduard Arushanyan;

As shown recent literary data, Parkinson’s disease is a chronopathological phenomenon with disorganization of daily rhythms numerous physiological processes. These shifts based on the disturbance of hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nuclei and its interrelations with pineal gland. Attenuation of rhythm stabilization role and neuroprotective influence main pineal hormone melatonin on nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons may be important pathogenic reason for this disease.
