In the period from 2003 till 2013 156 children with scoliosis of grade III-IV underwent surgery using spinal system «COLORADO-2». All children are divided into two groups depending on the rigidity or mobility of scoliotic deformity of the spine. In the first group (31 children) two kinds of surgery were conducted: 18 children underwent one-stage correction with galotibial traction and dorsal spondylodesis, 13 children – two-stage correction with galotibial traction and ventro-dorsal spondylodesis. In the second group (125 of children), 38 children underwent one-stage correction with galotibial traction and dorsal spondylodesis, 87 children underwent one-stage dorsal correction with spondylodesis and without galotibial traction. Using of spinal system «COLORADO-2» is the effective technique of scoliosis surgery in children, evidenced by the degree of postoperative correction: for severe rigid scoliosis correction degree amounted to 55.7–75.2 %, with mobile scoliosis – 78.7–93.7 %. In assessing the responses to the SRS-24 questionnaire it was noted that after surgery the results of treatment were highly evaluated and slightly increased in the dynamics (p>0.05).
